Review: 'wow' makeup collection by seventeen

Review: 17 'wow' make-up collection

Hey Guys! So, today I'm going to be doing episode no.2 of my review series! Yay! So, today I will be reviewing the 17 'wow' makeup collection. I had this for Christmas, and it it so fabulous I just had to do a review for it! Hope you enjoy guys! Also, before I begin, just wanted to ask you if you could visit my YouTube page. There are details all over the blog, so please visit it! Thanks! Also, follow me on twitter @BeautyCrush1011 thanks! So, I shall stop chattering and begin!

A bit about 17
17 is a British brand (I think, so please comment if they have it in other countries too!), that is aimed a teenagers. It stocks all things from mascara to primers, and handbag essentials.

Additional Info
Right, this is the inside. It comes with 3 different coloured bronzers, a pot of black gel eyeliner, black mascara, 2 eye pencils: black and brown, metallic cream, nude blush, 5 eyeshadows/blushes, 8 baked powders, 5 lipsticks, an eye pencil sharpener, an eyelash curler, 5 different brushes, and a mini booklet with makeup tips and tricks, and a primer

The eyelash curler
The eyelash curler is very good, and works really well. If you can't wear mascara, then I recommend this, as it gives the effect of longer lashes.

Primer
This primer does wonders! It is nice and creamy, can go on all parts of the face, and creates a smooth base for the makeup to be applied onto.

Black gel eyeliner
The gel eyeliner is very good, and the set actually comes with an eyeliner brush, too.

Metallic cream
This cream can be applied anywhere on the face, but I use it for lightening. I don't recommend this for a natural school look, as it is really really really shiny. This cream is better for the summer break.

Mascara
This mascara is probably the best one I have ever used. If you are going out anywhere, just brush on a few coats of this and you have some pretty lashes. If you are going on a date, apply a few coats of this and you have the ultimate doll eyes! Very good for what it is.

Blush
As you can see in the picture, next to the metallic cream, there is a nude coloured blush. I really like this blush, and use it everyday. The only bad thing about this is that if you were looking for ultimate coverage, then I do not recommend. It doesn't do that good coverage.

eye liner pencils and shapener
These pencils are very good quality. They do the job very well. For a softer look use the brown. For a vintage 1950's look, use the black one. The sharpener is really good too. It doesn't break the pencils or anything like that.

Bronzer(s)
There are 3 different coloured bronzers, in the same kind of compact. One is like a chocolate brown, one is a nudish colour, and one is like a yellowish skin colour. For their job, they do very well. They highlight your face.

set of 5 blushers/eyeshadows
These are my favourite eyeshadows. The colours are: natural, brown, blue, pink, and black. My personal favourite is the natural and pink colour, as they are really good for school. If you are running late, just use the normal eye brush, and apply the natural shade all over the lid. Then towards the inner corner of the eye, apply the pink, to lighten the appearance. These colours such as the clack and brown also double up as eyeliners. Use then shaped eye brush to do it.

Baked powders
Unfortunately, the baked powders are personally the worst part of this makeup set. The four darker colours are very good for doing a smokey eye, but the four other lighter colours aren't that good because when you apply them, nothing really shows. Especially the white. The good points about the powders are that because they are round, they are quite easy and nice to apply onto the brush.

Lip sticks/glosses
The lip colours are really nice, and easy to apply. The only bad thing is that they are all really shiny, and it would be nice if there was at least 1 matte colour.

Brushes
All of the brushes are great! No problem with those!

Overall, I really like this makeup set. Apologies for the messiness of this case, as you can see I have used it lots! I hope this review was helpful to you. I can't wait to figure out a summer look using these cosmetics! If this set is no longer about, there are many 17 individual cosmetics that are the same. Please visit my YouTube channel. You can see details on older posts. Thanks! also, please visit my twitter. Remember: Don't follow your dreams, chase them! Chase them so, so much, then one day you will catch them!

MUA £1 nail polish review by BeautyCrush1011

Review: MUA £1 nail polish

Hi guys! So, I think I said that I was going to do a review!? Oh well. Well, today, I am doing a review of the MUA £1 nail polish. So, I guess this is the first 'episode' of my reviewing series! Anyway, lets get on with it!

A bit of info about MUA (Make Up academy)
MUA is a British brand, stocked in Superdrug. They have a great price on them, too. If you haven't tried any of them yet, I personally think you should!

Nails
So far, I have 5 of the MUA nail polishes: Pistachio ice cream, Bold Blue, Frozen Yoghurt, clear top coat, and Lush Lilac. They are actually pretty good quality for a pound, and I was quite pleased with them. At first, I wasn't sure about them when I bought my first one, Pistachio ice cream, because they were very cheap, and with other cheap nail polishes I have bought, they weren't that good. Also, I had heard negative feedback on the packaging and brushes. But now, they have all new packaging, that actually reminds me of essie nail polish, with the glass engraved on the side. The new brush is really easy to use, and the actual polish is decent as it is not too runny or gloopy, and doesn't dry out after a few uses. Overall pretty good quality!

Shades
Pistachio ice cream
I instantly fell in love with this minty colour when I saw it. I was like, oh, is this gonna be really expensive like essie? And then I saw the price! Only £1!!! I just knew I was going to defo buy this! Also, this colour is just like the essie colour, mint candy apple and first timer, so if you were looking for those colours in essie, I definitely recommend this one!

Clear shade
When I had already bought the mint colour, I went back again to Superdrug another day, and got a few more colours, including this clear shine top coat. It comes along with a good brush, and it gives your nails a nice shiny and smooth look. A very good top coat for a small price.

Bold Blue
This shade is really good for spring and summer, as it is like a pastel. It's not in the picture above, as there wasn't any space! But yes, good again. I recommend it for ombre nails, it looks so cute then.

Frozen yoghurt
This colour is not much of a pastel, but, again, I still recommend it for the summer. It can top of any summer outfit! Personally, I think this colour looks really cute on short nails!

Lush Lilac
When I saw this colour, I just had to get it!!! It was sooo cute! It has a nice shine, and isn't too dark or light. I think this would top off any summer outfit.

The down sides
Of course, this nail polish can't be perfect, so I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you the bad points about this nail polish. So, one of the bad things is that the nail polish doesn't last THAT long. But, you never know, it could just be my top coat that I use. The top coat that I use currently is the Sally Hansen No Chip acrylic top coat, and personally I don't think it does me that good. And, I did just apply the MUA top coat, so lets see how long this one lasts!

Overall, I really like this nail polish, and recommend it to anybody. The colours are really cute for spring and summer, and I can't wait until summer break to put these on everyday! Ombre Nail tutorial!

Hey Guys! Today I'm going to be showing you how to achieve ombre nails!

You will need:
  • Make-up wedges
  • a base coat
  • white nail polish
  • nail polish remover
  • 3 different colour nail polishes
  • a top coat

  1. Get rid of any old nail polish.

  2. 2. Soak your hands. This will get any oil from the remover off your nails.

    3. Apply a base coat.

    4. Apply two coats of white nail polish.

    5. Now you need to get your makeup wedges.

    6. Put your 3 different nail colours on the square end of the wedge, in order of darkest to lightest. You don't have to use the same colours that there are on the picture.

    7. Press it onto your nails, with the darkest at the tip of your nail.

    8. Let it dry, then apply a top coat. This top coat is by OPI, but you can use any top coat.
    9. Now you have your very own ombre nails!
