MUA £1 nail polish review by BeautyCrush1011

Review: MUA £1 nail polish

Hi guys! So, I think I said that I was going to do a review!? Oh well. Well, today, I am doing a review of the MUA £1 nail polish. So, I guess this is the first 'episode' of my reviewing series! Anyway, lets get on with it!

A bit of info about MUA (Make Up academy)
MUA is a British brand, stocked in Superdrug. They have a great price on them, too. If you haven't tried any of them yet, I personally think you should!

Nails
So far, I have 5 of the MUA nail polishes: Pistachio ice cream, Bold Blue, Frozen Yoghurt, clear top coat, and Lush Lilac. They are actually pretty good quality for a pound, and I was quite pleased with them. At first, I wasn't sure about them when I bought my first one, Pistachio ice cream, because they were very cheap, and with other cheap nail polishes I have bought, they weren't that good. Also, I had heard negative feedback on the packaging and brushes. But now, they have all new packaging, that actually reminds me of essie nail polish, with the glass engraved on the side. The new brush is really easy to use, and the actual polish is decent as it is not too runny or gloopy, and doesn't dry out after a few uses. Overall pretty good quality!

Shades
Pistachio ice cream
I instantly fell in love with this minty colour when I saw it. I was like, oh, is this gonna be really expensive like essie? And then I saw the price! Only £1!!! I just knew I was going to defo buy this! Also, this colour is just like the essie colour, mint candy apple and first timer, so if you were looking for those colours in essie, I definitely recommend this one!

Clear shade
When I had already bought the mint colour, I went back again to Superdrug another day, and got a few more colours, including this clear shine top coat. It comes along with a good brush, and it gives your nails a nice shiny and smooth look. A very good top coat for a small price.

Bold Blue
This shade is really good for spring and summer, as it is like a pastel. It's not in the picture above, as there wasn't any space! But yes, good again. I recommend it for ombre nails, it looks so cute then.

Frozen yoghurt
This colour is not much of a pastel, but, again, I still recommend it for the summer. It can top of any summer outfit! Personally, I think this colour looks really cute on short nails!

Lush Lilac
When I saw this colour, I just had to get it!!! It was sooo cute! It has a nice shine, and isn't too dark or light. I think this would top off any summer outfit.

The down sides
Of course, this nail polish can't be perfect, so I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you the bad points about this nail polish. So, one of the bad things is that the nail polish doesn't last THAT long. But, you never know, it could just be my top coat that I use. The top coat that I use currently is the Sally Hansen No Chip acrylic top coat, and personally I don't think it does me that good. And, I did just apply the MUA top coat, so lets see how long this one lasts!

Overall, I really like this nail polish, and recommend it to anybody. The colours are really cute for spring and summer, and I can't wait until summer break to put these on everyday!
